Successful Serial Entrepreneur Walter Cruttenden Now Exploring Ancient Cosmology and Solar System Motion
His Binary Research Institute will present its 12th annual Conference on Precession and Ancient Knowledge in the SoCal desert in October
Walter Cruttenden is an Orange County-based serial entrepreneur, who co-founded several businesses that became wildly successful, including Roth Capital and Acorns.
Roth Capital is an investment banking firm. Acorns is a fintech company that enables users to invest spare change from everyday purchases into a diversified portfolio.
Now retired, Cruttenden uses his time to explore and write about history and astronomy. He authored the book, Lost Star of Myth and Time. And, he produced the documentary, The Great Year, narrated by James Earl Jones.
His latest venture, Lost Star Productions, is involved in producing live-action and animated films, as well as streaming content regarding ancient history and astronomy.
He’s also the director the Newport Beach-based Binary Research Institute, a nonprofit researching the cause and effects of solar system motion.
The institute is presenting, for the twelfth year in a row, the Conference on Precession and Ancient Knowledge in Rancho Mirage in late October.
Precession refers to changes in the earth’s orientation to space. Many ancient culture believed that this cosmic motion was responsible for the changing eons, similar to the way the earth’s revolution causes the cycle of the seasons.
“If the earth’s precession is mostly caused by solar system motion, as new research suggests, then the ancients may be right about a grand cycle of time,” Cruttenden said.
At this year’s conference, Cruttenden will speak about ancient cosmology and solar system motion.
Featured Speaker: Graham Hancock
The featured speaker will be Graham Hancock, an author and journalist, who has been conducting research on ancient civilizations for more than 40 years. In his recent No. 1 Netflix show, Ancient Apocalypse, he presented the theory that a lost global civilization is responsible for many of the similarities in archaic myths, and left ruins of megalithic structures scattered around the world.
Despite his popularity, his findings — and how he has postulated them — have ruffled the feathers of traditional archaeologists.
While the current view of most academics is Darwinian in nature, i.e. anything that came before us must be more primitive (with few exceptions), Graham — along with an increasing number of “alternative historians” — say they've discovered evidence that suggests neolithic cultures may have been far more advanced than previously believed.
Hancock’s presentation will center on what happened after a comet smashed into the Earth roughly 12,000 years ago. He believes the Earth experienced a "cataclysm,” an event he has written about in his book Underworld.
His opinion is that the resulting environmental impact destroyed an unknown global civilization. Despite his beliefs challenging traditional archaeologists, they’re finding increasing support from geologists and non-traditional researchers.
Others who will be presenting at the conference argue that it was something other than a comet that caused the decline of this unknown global civilization. The variety of opinions about this decline is expected to be a stimulating topic of discussion, Cruttenden told inter-TECH-ion.
The overarching purpose of the conference is to discover how much the ancients really knew, encourage debate and “hopefully” rediscover some of the wisdom embedded in the myth, folklore and structures of ancient cultures, he added.
Right after the conference, Hancock will debate traditional archaeologist, Flint Dibble, on the Joe Rogan Experience. Rogan is a very popular podcaster with a large following.
Other Conference Speakers
Besides Hancock and Cruttenden, other presenters will include Jimmy Corsetti, Ben Van Kerkwyk, Hugh Newman and Chris Dunn. All have authored books or created videos on the conference topics. Some of their videos have amassed millions of views. Newman will discuss his new book on Gobekli Tepe.
Gobekli Tepe is a Neolithic archaeological site in the Southeastern Anatolia region of Turkey, dating back to between approximately 9500 and 8000 B.C. It contains a number of large circular structures supported by massive stone pillars, and is considered the world's oldest known megalith.
Also speaking at the conference will be Charlotte Moroz, a doctoral candidate in mythological studies and a mythology consultant, as well as Marco Vigato, author of The Empires of Atlantis.
The conference venue is the Rancho las Palmas Resort.
The earlybird registration deadline, for $599, is September 30. The price at the door will be $899.
